They're not a "real family"

Words cannot express my disgust. A Missouri city is kicking a family out.

Even straight couples aren't safe from overbearing, puritanical, nanny-state conservatism. The reason they're being kicked out? They're not married.

Thanks for this, do ya think it might not also have something to do with them being African-American and the city administration is white.

To be honest racial politics are so foreign to me that I wouldn't even speculate.

Back before Ryan was even a glint in his parents' eyes, a similar case arose in North York, Ontario. It was in the late 1960 or early 70s and the then "borough" of North York went after three unrelated women sharing a house. To the best of my knowledge, all were heterosexual.

They fought the by-law and won. One of the three was Barbara Greene who went on to be a North York councillor and about the only person who was ever a serious challenger to Mayor Mel Lastman. Maybe someone can help me recall if Barbara was also a PC Party candidate at some point in time.
