So online polls aren't THAT accurate...
Who cares, they're fun! Plus, they can serve as a nice comparison to the more official level of support candidates have. (Michael Ignatieff currently has over a quarter of the caucus supporting him, for example, yet in this poll he's not even above the 10% mark.) Head over and vote in this one, a very impressive preferential ballot for the Liberal leadership. As it stands, first ballot results have Rae on top with 24.3%, then Kennedy with 18.6%, Volpe with 14.2%, Stephane Dion at 10.5%, Ignatieff at 8.1%, and Brison at 6.5%; with Bob Rae taking it on the final ballot with 55.5%, against Gerard Kennedy's 44.5%.

Caucus support isn't everything. MI isn't really attraCTING new people to the party.
the tory bloggers are supporting the ones they think we will lose with......this is the same old story......they dont want MI or KDryden in the race,,,with MI they cant compete in the debates and class....and with Ken....he can beat them especially in quebec....that is why you will see rae kennedy with big numbers.
With Joe Volpe in third place ahead of Dion and Ignatieff, it's so obvious Conservatives are voting. The Tories fear Ignatieff the most because they know he can beat Stephen Harper. Anyone who thinks MI isn't attracting new people are deluding themselves. There is a very good reason why he has more Caucus support than anyone, AND that the Tories fear him the most.
MI is doing no signups outside of GTA. Volpe for all his faults seems to be dropping more forms off than anyone else at lpco
Gee, where's Ashely on this ballot? ;-)

Actually I have to agree... with Volpe now coming SECOND behind Bob Rae, it's fairly obvious that more Tories are voting in this thing than Liberals. I guess it's possible that a lot of Liberals support Joe Volpe... but then again, it's also possible that Joe Volpe could actually win an election...
I suspect Rae winning and Volpe coming in third means many Tories are voting. They feel those are the ones that have the best chance of beating. The fact Stephane Dion, Michael Ignatieff, and Scott Brison did poorly means Tories fear competing them.
I'm one of those liberals who are being assigned as 'a tory mole' because I support bob rae. I think his strengths are such that he'll be supremely underestimated when it comes to laying forth a superior platform, defending it and beating the arguments of Harpor's agenda. I agree that the volpe support is mostly the tory blogmeisters, but there is a portion of us who believe bob's the one... but unlike many, i will support enthusiastically the likes of ignatieff, kennedy, dion, dryden, brison and hall findlay should they pull it off.
