Gays don't face discrimination in daily life...
...is the argument of Ed Fast, the Conservative MP for Abbotsford.
Maybe you should out yourself to your constituents, Mr. Fast, and see how much non-discriminatory hate mail you get.
And as always, Ms. Fry's question was wonderful:
If Harper reverses same-sex marriage, we will create two classes of same-sex couples: one group which is married already, and one group which can never get married. How is that fair?
Fast just ignored her question completely, of course.
He then had the temerity to say that Bill Siksay's desire to be treated as an equal citizen of Canada was driven by "ideology." Of course, Mr. Fast, it has nothing to do with the fact that Bill Siksay is gay and wants to be treated with respect, you dick.

Are you gay?
To comment 1, "Why? You desperate for a date?" I've never even been to this website but linked to it from another blog and still find this comment utterly stupid.
What has amazed me looking at public comments today are two-fold:
1) A refreshingly high number of people - including a majority of heterosexuals "get it" and realize this is just a pollitical ploy on a convenient minority. That is good news.
2) Not so refreshing is the morphing of bigots to the point of trying to argue against equal marriage because a) Dion has a French mother - yeah, a big 1 + 1 = 4,328 on that rationale but you'd be surprised how often it came up and b) because "they're not against gays or anything, they just think they ought to have the same rights as anyone else but have to call it something different" As someone wisely posted on Globe, "yeah, that's a good idea. And while at it, gays ought to be ride buses too but should have to ride in the back."
People should really stop trying to pretend their racism and bigotry is something more noble and face the music.

Yes.

I agree.
In that case, why not post any better pictures of yourself? The blogosphere is for more than political ranting, you know.
Fast is out to lunch on this. If not, why won't he go against his constituents and vote NO? Like Emerson will likely tomorrow.
